We are the organisation behind the market-leading brand NICEIC, and we are dedicated to providing professional services and certification to a wide range of customers across the building services sector.
Quality is the foundation of everything we do. And as a result, many of our products are Government-recognised and United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) approved.

We’re currently looking for Area Engineers and Electrotechnical Associate Assessors to cover various locations across the UK.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and developing relationships with potential applicants seeking registration and engaging with various other professional bodies and stakeholders to promote the many services our company offers.
You’ll be undertaking periodic assessments for all customers registered under our electrotechnical schemes to assess their competence, their resources and ensure they comply with the rules and technical standards required by the electrical industry.
You’ll therefore be required to work independently whilst following clear instructions and guidance.
Your role will include:
- Undertaking assessments for all customers registered for competent person schemes.
- Assessing customers’ competence and resources to ensure they comply with the scheme requirements and technical standards.
- Periodically assessing them, to determine their eligibility for continued registration.
- Demonstrating a high level of technical competence over a wide range of electrical categories.

You’ll need to demonstrate a high level of technical competence over a wide range of electrical installations, so detailed knowledge of BS 7671 and related codes of practice is essential, along with knowledge of accreditation criteria. You’ll also need to have a full UK driving licence.
As you’ll be dealing with our customers every day, you’ll need to have excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels, both internally and externally. Report writing, numeracy and IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office, are essential, along with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise your workload.
Previous employees have come from a Qualified Supervisor or Electrical Projects Manager or Electrical Contracts Manager background, or from an electrical teaching background.
Essential qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in an electrical discipline as a minimum
- 18th edition
- Initial Verification & Periodic Inspection & Testing
Desirable qualifications:
- Ideally have completed an electrical apprenticeship or similar scheme.
