About Us:
- ESF have been campaigning for, and pursing changes in electrical safety and regulations for almost 70 years and were previously known as the Electrical Safety Council (ESC).
- The charity has two technical teams, focusing on electrical installation and electrical product safety.
- Planning for the future they are looking to strengthen their team and capabilities.
What Will I Be Doing?
Working within the product safety team (3 currently in the team), you will be required to:
- Conduct investigations, evaluations and create detailed reports and risk assessments on electrical products.
- Carry out further research / reporting on products as needed.
- Respond to enquiries from customers, providing technical support if needed.
- Liaise with internal colleagues in the Public Affairs and Communications teams.
- Represent ESF through presentations, exhibitions and media engagements (web, TV, and Radio) to highlight the work of the charity.
- Stay abreast of relevant EU/IEC/UK product standards and developments.
- Be based in the London office along with hybrid working.
The Ideal Candidate:
- As a minimum, you must be familiar with electrical product testing and safety to BS standards and a baseline understanding of electrotechnical principles.
- Inquisitive mindset, able to interpret and analyse technical data.
- A degree in a relatable sector is highly advantageous.
- Confident writing detailed technical reports.
- Knowledge of technical committees is advantageous.
- Able to work collaboratively with others within the charity, as well as those within manufacturers, government officials, and testing laboratories, amongst others.
- Have right to work in the UK as sponsorship cannot be provided.
Package on Offer:
- £60,000 – £63,000 basic salary depending on experience.
