It’s been unlike anything we’ve seen before in our lifetimes. A whirlwind of unprecedented events, as Covid 19 struck the lives of everyone and turned things upside down for many. Who, up until a few months ago, had even heard of the term ‘furlough’. Now, emerging on the other side, we’ve been reflecting on life and business, pre and post lockdown.
2020 and the year was off to a fantastic start with January bringing our highest number of new appointments and February following with a record turnover. As we moved into March, the signs were there that the market was being affected and, on 16th March, we moved into lockdown.
We’re not a team to rest on our laurels and quickly ‘set-to’ to help the NHS and our wider communities. Nick, already a Warwickshire NHS 4×4 volunteer, was on call as an NHS responder to deliver facemasks and other vital equipment to our hospitals and care homes. He was also a member of the local community support group.
When he wasn’t volunteering, he even managed to fit in some landscaping projects, Joe Wicks PE and homeschooling, although it’s probably fair to say the latter was not one of his strengths!
John has also been doing his bit to help the community, through Stivichall & Finham Empowerment (S.A.F.E); helping the vulnerable and elderly through lockdown. In addition, he also became a key night shift worker at a large supermarket, helping to feed the nation. And, when time allowed, got stuck into some gardening projects.
Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen a marked increase in people going back to work, and the market is picking up as we become accustomed to ‘the new norm.’ We’ve carried out our risk assessments and followed Government advice, and are delighted to announce that Team TalentTech are back in the office today.
Not only are we back to our passion: recruitment, but we have some exciting news which we’ll shortly be sharing! Watch this space. And, in the meantime, we’re looking forward to speaking to all of our candidates and clients very soon.
