1. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!
Research the company and the role. Look at any information you have been sent, for example the job description and person specification.
2. Be organised
Make sure you have all your notes together, your battery is fully charged, you’ve checked your signal strength and have a quiet environment to take the call.
3. Be confident
You can’t rely on a smart suit, smile and good eye contact to make a good first impression, standing up while on the phone generates energy and makes you feel more confident.
4. Listen!
Listen carefully to questions and make sure the interviewer has finished talking before you consider your response and start to answer the question.
5. Close the interview
Clarify what the next steps are, confirm your interest, follow up the interview with an email.
GOOD LUCK!
