How did this all start?
This all started with my colleagues, the ongoing support I get in the workplace is great. Everyone is so motivating and encourages me to keep going, work harder & don’t stop.
What have you learnt over the last 3 years that’s relevant to the working world?
Routine and consistency are key fundamentals that I can take into the workplace. To do tasks well, they need to be reviewed, refined and repeated which create good habits and behaviours.
What’s a typical day for you?
It’s evolved, but I certainly wasn’t doing what I do now. Over the last year I’ve realised that I’m actually a morning person. 3 years ago if you’d have told me I would get up at 5am daily to go to the gym and 3 times a week I’d be going twice a day I wouldn’t believe you, but it works for me.
Any tips/hacks you would give anyone who is looking to get fit?
7 hours sleep, 10,000 steps and 8 pints of water per day, is what I originally focussed on. With discipline, all of these are very simple to bring into anyone’s daily routine. I’d always heard the phrase “you can’t out train a bad diet” and after a lot of work I now understand all things nutrition. Its very simple once it is explained and it makes a massive difference.
Ok, what’s next?
Primary aim, is to stay injury free! However I am completing Tough Mudder 2022 – 10 mile, multi terrain adventure obstacle course with a number of colleagues and have a couple of Triathlons booked in for the summer and will be doing Hyrox Birmingham later in the year, but I really want to go on Ch4 SAS Who Dares Wins but my running needs work….. lets see!
